Assurance :

o FAI (First Article Inspection): inspect and validate first batch before production
control the production process, analyze drawings to define critical dimensions and verify the accuracy (ensure that they reflect any changes made to parts design during the prototype design), check the toolings used during prioduction.

o Release Batch Inspections: creation of a management tool monitoring the workload of the quality team: 20 quality inspectors have to weekly control 50-100 batches.
Establishment of quality rules: samlpe ratio, Physical or Document check, Open Issue List follow-up.


Development:

o Audits: general process qualified auditor. Assess supplier capacity to produce, complying with our reqirements: verify the existence of objective evidence showing conformance to required processes, assess how successfully processes have been implemented, and judge the effectiveness of achieving any defined target levels.

o Quality panel management: review all 24 Chinese suppliers monthly performance; animate weekly meetings with supplier and alstom production sites; management of the visual dynamic dashboard to follow-up treatment of these NCE; establish the workload activity for Supplier Quality teams, animate Quick Response Quality Control workshops.

Daily analysis of the Shanghai metro - line 2: 32 trains / 360.000 km monthly;

Weekly and monthly warranty KPIs: EHS (environment, health and safety), MTBF (mean time between failures), MDBF(mean ditsance between failures), train set availability;

Technical support for troubleshooting, testing and validation of updates for the integrated software;

Technical management and training of Chinese team (10 colleagues);

Initiate actions towards reliability growth in order to reach the contractual targets:
MTBF_target = 70 hours, current = 1100 hours trainset availability in April 2010= 80 % - April 2011= 98%

Support company to obtain ISO 9001 certification: update the quality management system, processes and procedures;
Set up an inventory of fixtures of a conformity-testing software; create new specifications to improve the software;
Animate several workshops and make benchmarking surveys.
